Hy there.
I'm looking for a engine swap in my old Range Rover. The Rover V8 is pretty tired and pretty bad engine to start with.
I have couple of 4L out of Cherokee lying around. I always liked the power and torque in my old High output '91 Cherokee. I don't wan't to bother with the EFI, so carb is the way to go. What power would a 4liter make, compared to the efi? I guess the intake from the 258 would fit, so a 2barrel carb would probably be nice. I would change the cam to a midrange torque one as I never rev the engine pass 4000RPM.

SO my question is, whats the best way to built up a Carbed 4liter?  what carbs? how big?.
For the record, I'we just been into diesel engines, so the gassers are kind of a new thing to me.

my carbd 4.0 makes 184rwhp, and 212rwtq....    thats a good bit more than the EFI. Im running a 600 holley double pumper mech secondary cardb, 4bbl intake, and this is with stock compression and camshaft.
setting guys out by car lengths....
