I have a Jeep with a qudratrack transfer case, I beat the Jeep up pretty bad, rebuilt the case ( very easy rebuild) and continue to use it hard with no problems to speak of, so what is the knock on these things ? ?

Chain on the primary drive is the drawback. No fun when you have a horsepower producing engine under the hood.

true the chain does stretch, but when i rebuilt mine i used the milemarker kit and replaced the chain, and it uses tranny fluid now, and has the manual hubs, so it is pretty good, plus it has a 2 low option now !

    If you add power, as in HP they break, I have seen. I am currently stuffin' an NP 205 into my J-truck. See more here;

They do break with lots of power put to them, But they do very well driving and daily, and they take alot of abuse without a major issue, are very cheap, since many guys don't want them. They will go along time being used uder average hp loads and hard use. SH
