BTW the jeep is a grand wagoner so the soft take off is a lot due to weight. but after 1500 rpm it more than makes up the difference. it still has enough torque to off road crawling.

Just food for thought.

I had that cam for years in an otherwise stock 360. It is a definite improvement over stock, with no real negatives. Also, easy on the valvetrain. There are other cams that have more low end off idle torque.

While I still have the old Erson guide open :-)  TQ20H
                                                                                               lobe centres    Advance    lash
1,500-4,500   TQ20H   E710121       292° IN 214° IN .478" IN            111°    4°        .000" IN
                                                         292° EX 214° EX .478" EX                                  .000" EX

The “Performer” . Erson’s most popular grind for improving all around street performance with minor modifications. A 600 cfm 4-barrel and free flowing dual exhaust system increases low end torque and mid-range horsepower. OK with stock converter.

You could look at TQ40H but recommend min 9.0:1 compression & headers.

I replaced a 204/214 ( same as Edelbrock Performer) cam with the Erson 214/214 on my 360, and the car picked up about 500 rpm on top, and didn't seem to lose any thing off idle. I never ran it past 5500, but it pulled good until then. The 204/214 was done at a little over 5000.

Probably would need a small torque convertor with the TQ40 and yes better exhaust and intake a little more compression would be good as well.
