Well, at least you know where to look on the solenoid to quickly identify whats going on. Could be the contacts with each solenoid post. The solenoid rarely gets looked at for contact connectivity, thus the intermittent troubles with starting.

So, should I start with removing each connection, making sure it’s clean and tight? Is there an NSS inside the column too? I have also seen the ignition switch located at the bottom of the column referred to as an ignition relay in other posts. Which is accurate?

Temp changes, condensation, and as you say wiggling, or should i say settling after a while brings change.

Seen plenty of random connectviity issues through the years. To me a bad switch is a bad switch, unless a few good arcs when switch closes cleans up its contacts... which, by the way, can happen with weak connectivity at the solinoid, when things settle after long term non use. Eventally the intermittant failure will become permanent.

Anywho... cleaning and checking electrical connections will do more good than waiting for replacement or further troubleshooting.
