16 gallon from the factory. Do you need to replace the tank? Most people have been modifying 64-65 Mustang tanks to fit. Cheap enough , and welding on a new tank to change the filler is safe. The sending unit is compatible with the pre-78 Rambler/AMC gas gauges also, so get a Mustang sending unit as well. You don't have to cut the floor out of the trunk, just suspend the tank under the car like just like the original. But you CAN cut the floor out and install as in Mustangs if you want -- I've seen it done both ways.
