Moby the white Rambler is looser in the front than he needs to be.   I may be installing control arm bushings as a minimum along with new shocks.  I can't see or feel anything else that seems to be worn.

I know the AMC vendors sell front shocks for that model but I am wondering if anyone has a part number for Gabriels or KYBs that would fit without paying the vendor price this time.  NAPA has the Rare Parts repro shocks available too but they are more pricey than the AMC vendors.  Any info appreciated.  Joe

Sweet. Glad it worked out. RockAuto usd to have them but they are out of stock. I might grab a pair for inventory since they are getting more difficult to find.

I found them on several sites, half out of stock. So makes me wonder... may not be in stock at others. Ordered from here, $20.99 instead of $28.99, and they take PayPal (don't recall if Summit does or not...). $12.99 shipping from Saginaw, MI, to Gilbert, SC.

As I feared -- got a note from Truckspring that the shocks are on back order for at least two weeks. I told them I'd wait up to four weeks. Will see! I suspect the same from Summit, but maybe they have a few sets in a warehouse... though I doubt it.

They must have some in their warehouse. I already told the guy I ordered from I could wait, so will see what happens. I think Gabriel makes some of these specialty shocks as ordered, so that's probably what the wait is. He said two weeks, so if I don't have them by the end of March I'll probably try Summit.
