Been looking for a turn signal switch, its a half moon looking setup with harness going down the steering column. I've seen $80 on Nashparts, and $150 on American parts depot. Any one know if I can switch to a generic from Summit? I live right down the road from there.

It's just a GM switch. Used by GM cars of the same years. Pretty much the entire steering system for AMC is GM.
Look up a turn signal switch for a 1965 Impala. |

NAPA has a "repair kit" for it for about $22.00 if you only need the part that normally fails.
Part #ECH DL6120.

I thought AMC didn't start using GM columns until '67. He has a '65 Ambo.

$80. seems fairly reasonable assuming it's the right part. I agree with rocklandrambler that AMC did not go to the Saginaw columns until 1967.
Farna will know who made the earlier columns. |

Long time AMC fan. Ambassador 343, AMX 390, Hornet 360, Spirit 304 and Javelin 390. All but javelin bought new.

66 with tilt columns, 65 with power steering (GM columns). Prior to that columns are some outside supplier... I forget the name. The "repair kit" is mainly the nylon part that kicks the switch off, and is the main thing that breaks.
