Guys -

Worked on the Javelin yesterday, getting everything finished up from cleaning out the bad
gas and having the carb rebuilt.

Pulled it out of the garage and it started right up and ran, a little rough, but that I expected.  Still
needed to adjust the idle and fuel mixture after the rebuild.

Backed it up in the driveway, about 40 feet or so, with it stalling as I parked it.

When I went to make the adjustments, it wouldn't start no matter what.

Great, it's starting to rain and I can't get the car into the garage.  Ended up pushing it back up the driveway, then remembering how wonderful power steering is when the car isn't running :)  After
a few back and forth's and a good running start once it was lined up into the bay and the car was
back in.

Started checking and noticed that the clear fuel filter wasn't really at it's normal level of gas.  Took
the air cleaner off and winged the throttle, noting a small dribble of fuel coming out.

I had put in 5 gallons of fresh fuel, so it should have been enough to get to the gas station.....

So, here's the question.  It's a replacement fuel sender from one of the AMC vendors and it's been
in the car for at least 5-7 years.

Are there any known issues with the fuel pickup tube on the repro pickups?

Also,  I went and picked up another five gallons of fuel, and the car started up...

Thanks.

Steve

You never know, could be a fuel pump. Had one go out while driving along, without any warning.

Thanks  You never know.

I did check the fuel pressure a week ago, and it was at about 6psi.

Guess when I get a chance, I'll try starting it again and this time make the final
adjustments to the carb.

I usually don't run the tank below half.  If it is the pickup, that could be
why I never had it happen before.  Or something totally unrelated :)
