I have a 62 Ambassador. Everything I read says she has a 327..
BUT the carb is from a 65-67 287...
Want to figure out if the engine was changed, or just the carb..
From what I can see the 327 and 287 call for a different spark plug, and I want to get the correct ones..
Thanks for any help..
Jeff

327s are red, 287s are blue - unless someone repainted them with incorrect colors sometime in the past. It's not unusual for carbs to be switched around as situations required. Is it 2 bbl or 4 bbl?

I have been told that 250/287/327 engines have the bore size stamped [??] or cast into the rear top of the block near the distributor...but that it's a chrome-plated bear to see with the engine in the car.
Buzzman72...void where prohibited, your mileage may vary, objects in mirror may be closer than they appear, and alcohol may intensify any side effects.

4= 337
3 3/4= 287

U need a small mirror, flashlight and magiician to see it. Feelihg around u may be able to tell. Use 327 spark plugs and u r good.
