There is an archival photo of an all black Rebel called "The Machine". I know of the 1970 Rebel Machine that AMC produced but was wondering if anyone knows anything about the concept car shown in the archival photo. Does anyone know what became of that car? If any others were made? Or what it had under the hood? Any and all info on this car would be really appreciated, I'm very curious about it.

My understanding is they were considering putting out the Rebel Machine a year or two before they did. Supposedly to be a concept from Jim Wagner (Yes, the GTO guy) , as he was working for Hurst by 1969 or 68 and it is claimed the Rebel Machine, Sc/Rambler & SC/360 concepts came from Hurst & Wagner . At least he claimed so is his book. My understanding is AMC did not have enough money to promote all these at the same time, so they spread out over 3 years. LRDaum
