I believe they are bolted on from the INSIDE.  You would have to remove the headliner to get to them.

    My sister 76 was attached with double sticky tape, but it had been previously painted.

At some point they were installed with nylon clips that slid in the SS trim and just pushed into the holes. My nephew had one and we modified interior door panel clips to replace his broken ones. I believe that was a 72 or 73 Gremlin.
