Paint or powercoat the windshield trim black? Or possibly white to match the roof? I don't think it will look right without it and depending upon the look you want it to have would be the color choice. What you can do it cover it masking tape and paint it one half of it black (say the left side) and the other half white. Lay up in place so you see what it would look like.

I seem to recall some of the 220 models (might just be 64-65) had a plain rubber gasket on the windshield with no trim. Peter Stathes (www.amcrambler.com) might know and be able to get one if it's available. With the rest of the car blacked out or painted it should be fine, though I do like the idea of powder coating the trim body color. That would be unique! The plain black rubber looks just like what it was -- cheap. Even a black painted trim piece would look better, IMHO.

I don't think I would put the chrome around the windshield there is no chrome anywhere else so it would stick out like a sore thumb, as far as the hood scoop ,no hood scoop thats for performance or clearance issues and you have nether.

Started sanding and body work on the quarters and trunk area.
I think my black window is going to be good. I will get Tim, my Trim man to put some black at the bottom of the window. There is chrome across there on my convertible. He can do better with tape rather than me try to paint it. John is going to come Sunday afternoon to put in the windshield and back glass. Need to change oil in The Rambler this afternoon. Going to Shreveport, Louisiana to the Mopar Magic Car Show this weekend. Having AMC Fun, Ollie |

Trimming the windows in black adds a nice look. I did it to the side windows in my Hornet and love it.

Ready for first coat of primer. Looks as if Wednesday will be great weather to paint.
Hood scoop arrived and I like it. Here it is sitting on The Rambler. Got the windshield and back glass in. Forgot to take some pictures before I masked it up. Having AMC Fun, Ollie

I been working.......I used this guide coat...
That is the best stuff since sliced bread.......sure takes the idiot factor outa of the process.......which is a big help for me......... I still feel it with a rag, but no need too. In final primer now. Not as much as i would like as i ran out of paint. Might have to spot prime and re-sand. Windows done....... Going to Newton, Mississippi to the Loose Caboose Festival tomorrow. Threatening rain but I suspect it will rain later in the afternoon. Next week will be a slow week as we are going to the NSRA Tampa, FL Show. Having AMC Fun, Ollie

Added the chrome that I acquired from Bob H. I also bought the engine turn that goes inside the chrome but I am not going to use it. Going to paint this area black. Modified some chrome clips I had.
Had a good time at the car show Saturday. Think I have run down a new shop to do my Fatman front end. Having AMC Fun, Ollie

Things sometime get crazy in the car business.
Today was a big upshot. My Fatman front end has been sitting at Thomas's shop since the first of the year. I had just about given up on him and started looking for someone else to install it. Anyway, he called yesterday and said he was ready for The 69. The 69 ...loaded up and heading to Thomas's shop. Having AMC Fun, Ollie |
