Sounds like fun. I'm currently doing body and paint this is the next hurdle on my list... Please document sticky spots, and if you don't mind post pics of your progress.

The factory service manual shows how the harness us routed, via diagram in the wiring section. If it has coloured details, then it is not factory, and is missing a lot of information. Time to time ebay has a 72 factory TSM, you can place a want for one, and someone may have one for sale.

have the service manual and looking to purchase a colored wiring diagram on ebay.
I have the wires ran through the kick panel and rocker frame. Working on the dash and wanted to make sure the wires were in the right location before I start putting the dash together.

You will carefully push the connections to the engine bay through the firewall from the driver's side. There are a few black plastic push in loops to hold the harness along the firewall, inner fenders, and along the upper radiator support. If removed for repaint, the holes are easy to locate.

If you don't have a 72 TSM, I suggest obtaining one. There are some images along with proper instruction for troubleshooting connections.

Most of the interior harness is routed to the fuse panel, and goes from their up and behind the instrument cluster, until it drops down to the center pod.

The last half routes through behind the kick panel, through the rocker frame, and back to the trunk.

Which year? 71 and 72 have different wiring than 73 and 74.

How did you add the sender wire? To pin connector?
