Same topic we covered on another thread and the welding a nut onto a broken bolt was one of the suggestions in that thread, too. You have something to put a wrench on plus the heat on the bolt will help break the bond it has with the hole.

Left handed drill bits. As you drill you also are backing the threads out. Heat it with a propane torch and use the bits. Grind the top flat on the offending bolt. The welding trick works, but I don't thinK I'd do it with the intake on the engine. Spatter and such.

Lots of great ideas. I guess I will try welding the nut on first. If that fails, you've all given me some good backup plans. Thanks everyone!

When I broke a bolt on my Rolls, I heated the manifold around it for a long time, then shot the stub very carefully with some of that plumber's freeze spray.
That loosened the bolt so it came with an extractor. Ivor |

If stud is out far enough you can hit it with a hammer to crack it free. The engine shop guys gave me that hack, an it works even on questionable rusty bolts.
