Even the tubing that was supplied with the Gabriel Hijackers that's on the car now is still good.

I see a review or two now stating the tubing isn't very good.

Regardless, good luck with your endeavors.

Yes I understood about the camero, I have KYB now and they lasted 4 years front and back.I put the eddy AVS in the front and now need rears, the Monroe 58510 have small coils which I think will help in stiffness .My leaf springs are oem re curved and lifted my rear 2 inchs which is great since the stock look is not me. I will also look at others, but in 2018 I wonder if they are not all made by the same company and labels are changed .

I do apologize for not being more specific when I stated that 67-69 Camaro rear shocks are the same as the70 Javelin rear shocks. I was hoping you would understand that if you bought shocks for a 67 thru 69 Camaro that they would fit your 70 Javelin.

I can prove for you what akimmet said about Monroe vs. Gabriel.

The White70 has a set of Gabriel Hijackers on the rear that were installed in 1974 or 75. They're still on the car and still function, although I will admit they won't hold 25 to 30 psi over a winter of sitting unused. When installed the car had about 60K on the odometer, it's over 130K now. The car doesn't bounce at all.  I've never had a set of Monroe's last that long....

Yes the shocks are the same Javelin VS. AMX the difference is only in the mounting position.

I recommend Kyb or Gabriel vs. Monroe. I quit buying Monroe shocks because they only last about a year before they completely wear out. Especially on a seldom used car.

So far the Kyb shocks I have been using last at least 3-5 times longer.
Just beware the Gas-Adjust Kyb shocks are stiffer than most people prefer. The Excel-G shocks are more like the stock ride quality.

The lower shock mounting plates will differ on the right side as far as Javelin vs. AMX because the Javelin uses the same plate on both sides where the AMX would need a mirror image of the left for the right side.
But the shocks should be the same.

To stagger the shocks it was a simple matter of using the same plate on each side........

And AMXs had the torque links...
74 Hornet Hatchback X twins (since 1977)
62 American Convertible (still worth the $50 I spent in 1973!) AMCRC #513, AMO #384
70 AMX 360 4-speed (since 1981)

The shocks weren't staggered on an AMX is because there wasn't enough room for a production car. That's it, no other fancy explanation
