Oh, by the way... your car's body, when completed, will be structurally stronger than original. Them factory welds were not so perfect back then. I popped quite a few cleanly, without tares of the sheet metal.

Your pillar and cowl work gives me some ideas for my A pillar section replacement, and mods for under the cowl behind the firewall.

Thanks, I really couldn't believe how crappy the factory welds were until I saw them for myself. I have rewelded a lot of the factory welds that I would not have had too , just wanted to make it better.

Most have never seen a car that far apart so they don't realize that there are several parts that make up the A piller. If you need any advise just PM me I will be happy to help.

WOW!

I popped in here to see if you had made a cam choice after the (excellent) thread on it a year or so back

And forgot all about the cam question 2 minutes into your thread!

Wow your promises have VALUE LOL

I might have missed it, but have you shown the progress to the guy who sold it to you yet?

Great work,
I think of all the fully optioned 401/4 speed cars that could have used this treatment,
but it's your blood, sweat and tears to spend as you see fit.

Bravo!

Excellent work StarStarStarStarStar
and congratulations for not giving up. Clap

So what cam are you going to use?

Thank you, I appreciate the positive comments. I have shared some of the pictures with the guy i bought out from, he is very happy that he sold the car to me. I chose to use the Lunati 10100702 the specs are below. I talked to the techs at Summit and Lunati both agree that this will be a good drivable street performance cam, I am currently building the engine and hope when the weather breaks here in Ohio I who'll be able to get it on a run stand and get her broken in.

Cam and Lifters, Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Advertised Duration 262/268, Lift .507/.527, AMC, 290-401

Between your car and Buster's, I'll never take a rust-free car for granted again. The work you have done is amazing!

Beautiful work. You have inspired me to take a welding class (not that I would ever come close to your fantastic work)!
