Has anyone done any research into the replacement of the stock steering linkage with something beefier?

Gosh, there was a thread on 68/69 Javelin and AMX using the center link from 70 on up Javelins. Something to do with earlier steering were smaller diameter. Also something was talked about on using Matador tie rods as well, to beef up the stock Javelin and AMX steering components.

ProStreetAMX machined some custom solid tie rod sleeves, though you can probably find them in speed shops online.

I used what I found on Moog's parts catalog. But my part number fits on my Mustang rack and pinion setup. Some courior trucks and foriegn suv/trucks steering components have some solid hexagonal steel sleeves.

FAIL? NO but add wide race tires, better suspension and some HP and you end up with flex and strange steering feel.
