Hi guys, seems like a decent number of folks are on the hunt for inside door releases for their Pacers these days. A site called rust-free-parts.com claims to make new ones, but I haven't heard a success story yet.

I'm trying to see about making new pivot arms from steel, to replace the factory cast arm. I don't have access to stamping, or spring making equipment, so the plan is to disassemble existing releases, and replace the arm only. The fewer new parts made, the cheaper it can be done, also. That being said, does anyone have some broken Pacer releases they've been saving?

This idea is still in its infancy, so I'm also trying to gauge interest, and figure out what the cost might be. If you're interested, or have some suggestions, I'm all ears.

Admins, feel free to move this, if it's not in the proper category.

Alex

Out of curiosity, what is/are the problems with the new ones manufactured by rust-free-parts.com? Are they unavailable, not made correctly, site owners uncommunicative, what?

I would not spend to much effort making Pacer parts. Lots of parts cars available for almost nothing and many owners like myself are not inclined to spend a lot on reproductions parts for the car.

I've made them before. Never heard of a problem. He sells the ones that I rebuild.
