Hi all, need help on this one. I got a replacement alternator from Rockauto, the one I got is listed as a proper replacement. The lower mount on the engine (258) is not large enough to fit the new alt. The bracket kinda looks like it's adjustable? Is it, or do I need another alt?

Thanks!
Kensey

You can always oblong the holes on one of the two brackets so you can slide one the brackets for a proper fit.

It looks like the rear/outer bracket could slide back to accommodate. OR I suppose I could drill new holes in it to make it fit. Just want to make sure I'm not making a big mistake via others past experiences. Thanks!

hi, first thing i would do is spray some degreaser in the area and hose it off so you can get a GOOD look at what you have. What size alternator? 10si or 12si? Is the new one same as your old one? good luck, gz
