Rooms...

Lori and I just bought a pull behind trailer so as planned we will be able to use that for Gettysbury and Kenosha.  So in case we didn't find one, I booked rooms at both parties, which are "no cancel" reservations, so I will be checking to find out how serious they are on them.
IF not able to get out of them I will see IF I can "transfer" them to someone else.  Both are at a Super 8.  If I can I will update in case anyone looking for a room(s).

Got us a brand new 1974 Beavercraft 14' gem. (well a gem after remodel)  Right in the years I am comfortable with, payment too.  $500, it has all been framed in and sealed and need to finish up paneling and some add ons..  Too old to pop the pop up anymore...

Richard

Richard, I haven't gotten a room for the show yet. I might be interested in your room...

I was waiting in line at the bank the other day for the US money order for my registration when I saw on the website that you can even register online now! This saved me from waiting any longer in the line, I came home and registered while sitting on my couch! Now I just need to wait for the email indicating how to pay with my paypal.

I was an early attempt on the system, and it was having bugs a few months back.  Kirby - it might be good to post up here how that new system is working now and if members can use it as expected or not, especially as the date grows closer and people start to push the deadlines.

What Gettysburg should look like right about this weekend.  A peek at the beauty of the battlefields and the foothills of the Appalachian Mts in the background.  I don't know about you, but I'm ready to go!

Speaking of the mountains - a little note to our friends from the flatlands of the midwest:

If you are driving the old car or trailering - note that even the PA Turnpike has its share of hulls up and down some mountains and some curves.  Once you hit the PA border, you need to be awake and alert, and you'll actually have to drive your car or rig.  Also, I don't suggest getting off the turnpike at Breezewood and taking Rt. 30 into Gettysburg.  Stay on the turnpike to Exit 236 and take Rt 15 south direct to the host hotel (just south of Gettysburg).  Rt 30 into Chambersburg has a steep mountain - brake fade is a definite on old brake systems and extra fun for those hauling a load.

Hills.....that's funny to us folks from the west coast! Good thing my new truck has an exhaust brake!

When will I know if my registration worked or if I DO need to go get a money order?
