Hi guys after a long time away, I'm back in it again, trying to get a lot of little detail stuff finished and sorted out before moving ahead, mainly working on interior and trim now, will post pictures as soon as something gets finished.
On a personal note I was diagnosed with acute cerebellum ataxia on Aug 28 2018, it's a rare brain disease that affects balance and coordination there is no  treatment and no cure, normally a childhood disease that can be treated with antibiotics however in adults the damage is done.
I am no longer employed, now on disability, so more time for the car, I'll do what I can as long as I can hopefully several more years.  Thanks guys for all the help and support over the years, this was my first time getting into a car this deep, now I'll try to get it across the finish line.

DLC3062, hi yes mine had the metal strip also, the new stripping did not, I put tape over the holes
where the rivets were from the backside after removing them and cleaning real well. then applied the weather stripping adhesive and put the piece in place. these vent window seals are a real pain and they didn't fit real well, but they were better than nothing. And again no one else makes them. hence the high price. good luck.

I am in the process of putting in new cent window seal there is one piece that has a steel insert that is riveted in place. The replacement seal doesn't have the steel insert, so did you glue the piece,in or did yours, have the steel?

Thanks for the reply Brandon, I also have the Hurst Promatic ratchet shifter sitting on my work bench waiting for me to fit it . but I am in the middle of doing a full custom interior in my 65 American 440h . the shifter will go in once I have my custom floor & seats finished . a pic of what you have done with the shifter bracket would be helpful ,
cheers Garry

Hey Rambling on, thanks for the KUDOS, as far as the shifter goes it's a Hurst Promatic ratchet shifter
the blue base is just a lift I rigged up so I can use the original center console. as far as how it hooks to the transmission it's just a cable attached to a mounting bracket then to the trans by way of trans pan bolts. had to bend the bracket a little bit to make it fit right.
The cable required a bit more effort. The lever on the BW trans was a bit off, so using one that is supplied with the shifter I drilled the hole a little bigger cut the end off and welded it to the original trans lever, then just adjusted it till it worked. The shifter came with a bag of different brackets and levers so it's no real big deal.  I'll try to snap a picture next time I'm under the car. Now I'm just working on all the other stuff to get the outside of the car finished up so I can get the windshield installed. then qtr windows and finally the interior.
