Had a visit from one of the local Rambler lads and the car now has the X-factor, that should be worth at least a tenth, thanks David Newman:
Some people might remember the old roof mounted tacho: Well it wasn't doing much good up there pointing at the passenger, but it's an old VDO unit and was still working, so I've moved it somewhere more useful and I now have one working gauge in the car: Thought is was also time to step up the traction and loose another 48 lbs off the race weight in the process: |

Darren,
Great progress. If you want to streamline the dash a bit get a cluster from a Hornet with three gauge openings and you can mount a tach there. |

That looks really neat, my whole dash is pretty sad, but other than that I'm sort of happy with the uniqueness of the Gremlin dash for the moment.

No money for expensive race parts? $3.00 spun dollar aluminium water bottle from Red Dot and $3.50 strap from Bunnings (the strap was a little extravagant I know):
Significant upgrade over the old soft drink bottle: |

Mate that looks like a whole lot of fun in the old drag tradition of race what you bring. Look at that sea of Commodores and Falcons and one cool as Gremlin. i know which one I would have the most fun pushing down the strip on a saturday night. great stuff!

Loaded and ready for another trip to the drag strip tonight:
Looking a little more serious this time, other than needing a panel beater. |

X2 though first thing I thought of... needs them 60s Mustang round backup lights. Then why not do what Shelby did, screw the backup lights, add exhaust. |
