Bought it from Galvin's. Advice to those who might want to do the same: if you do the whole motor, I'd plan for at least three cans because it goes on pretty thin. Real nice, but thin.

Bought it from Galvin's. It comes in a can. If you do the whole motor, I'd plan for at least three cans because it goes on pretty thin.

X3!  Love that color.  Excellent work.

The 343 came alive like Peter Frampton! Cool 417 peak TQ @ 3700 RPM with 90% of peak from 2800 to 5100. 363HP @ 5000 with 90% of peak HP from 4200 to 5200. The AFR was a little on the rich side, wonder what a run at 12.5 or a little leaner would have done, but sure makes lots of power in the middle where I wanted it. 2023 Update: The 343 now has an RPM Air Gap intake with a one-inch spacer (most that would fit under the hood) and custom Mark Whitener 750 double-pumper. I would say there is at least a 30 HP and TQ increase over the custom 390 intake and Edelbrock AVS2 carb that I had on at the time of the dyno. That carb gave the engine shop fits. They told me to use a Holley, but no, I wanted the original AMC look. Glad I went to the Holley setup! I'd say 20 was the carb and 10 was the intake. This thing gets up to 6000rpm very quickly!

Should have the motor in next week! Going through parts and forgot I cleaned up the accelerator linkage over the winter. I believe the rods were originally painted black and the brackets were natural; I think the whole setup looks snazzier just cleaned up and cleared. Like the new felt washer? It's for a drum set; Ludwig part number P39061P.

Looking great, and those are some nice numbers on your engine. I fot one like seeing another big car being redone.

Along with the motor rebuild and performance upgrades, some important stuff needed to be done. The calipers and pads on the front and drum kits on the back to help slow down, new brake lines and hoses, replaced the emergency brake, too, and new power steering lines. And, all that safety-minded stuff led back to performance. In the process, found out the rear axle was spun, so now there are new Moser one-piece axle shafts, and they've been pinned to the housing just like downtown!

The Marlin is back on the road, upgraded, and safer than ever. it's downright explosive up to 6000 just like I wanted, too!
