I nearly went off the road when I answered a call from my dad and he told me Kenny (Andy) Anderson had died.

http://www.murdockfuneralhome.net/kenneth-andy-anderson/

He was my boss for a few years - the Rambler mechanic. He taught me a ton about being a mechanic and about Ramblers and treated me like a son in many respects.
I didn't realize he was all of 87, nor that he had even been sick or ill or weak, last I heard he was fine and I planed on visiting him in the next month. He just never seemed all that old to me, he was always there and always would be.
Man, don't put it off folks - if there's someone in your life you want or need to talk to or visit, no time like NOW!!!

All of those tools, the Kent-Moore tools for AMC, the parts and the memories mean all that much more now. It's awfully hard to think of it, he treated me so well and Dad told me a few years back that Andy had even thought of me as a son.

He worked as a mechanic until about 3 or 4 years ago.

Hey Andy, next time I see you, I'll flip ya for coffee and a roll!

Rest in peace, friend.

How fortunate you were, Bill, to have a friend like that.  I had one like that on my block and he taught me a lot about cars and life.

I know how that is.   I worked in a transmission shop for 15 years. and he died 3 years ago at the age 84. I still miss him.

Judging by the thoughtfulness of your post, I would say you are a better man for having known him...

We should all be as fortunate.

My best wishes to you and all who knew him...
