Amark has the late style. My AMX was a March build and still had the early version trim when I bought it. The original owner weighed maybe 90 lbs, so they lasted. They have since both broke and I have replaced them with the narrow version. No problems so far,

So the ones Amark produces are the warranty replacements, rather than the factory fit piece? For early 1970 of course, August production in this case.

Thanks!

"The early style was wider (taller?) than the later style." And the front mounting screw was shot directly into the seat frame as opposed to the metal 'tag' that hangs below the frame. Mike

There a two different "long" styles. The early style was wider (taller?) than the later style.
The short style was introduced in the 1971 model year but was used as replacements for the 70 models.

My recollection is the same as CCOWX. Long originally on the lower seat cushion, which were frequently broken. Replaced with the stubby piece.
Long time AMC fan. Ambassador 343, AMX 390, Hornet 360, Spirit 304 and Javelin 390. All but javelin bought new.

I was under the impression that the long ones were early 70 production and the short ones late 70. In any event, the long ones are correct for your application and the ones from Amark are gorgeous and far better than the originals. I bought some silver trim for them from APD and they look very nice.

"Long" style are the only correct trim for 1970 model year. The "short" style were the warranty replacement pieces and the style used in 1971. AMark sells a excellent reproduction "long" style.
