Kevin there is one other possibility. You fake them and run the exhaust out the side in front of the rear , but have a exhaust routed so it does not go though the side pipes. This what I'm doing on my 69 AMX. LRDaum

Thats a cool idea and I will give it some thought. The car is still in the resto stage and waiting for paint right now so I have some time . Do you plan on exiting the exhaust through the side pipe tips?
