Here is a mild 401 I built for my 77 cj7.
.30 over 8.5:1 Edelbrock Performer Edelbrock 650 Carb Lunati 64501...... 256/262 and 484/507 D.U.I Distributor Comp Double Roller Bulltear Crank and water Pulley valve job and mild port and polish Taylor Wires Goes to the Dyno in two weeks Valve Job Checking Preload |

Gonna say 300-320 hp @ 5500-6000 rpm
This will have brutal low end, bump the compression and bigger cam it should make 400 hp no problem Edited by Lenni AMC - Oct/18/2012 at 6:10am |

My dad had a similar build dynoed at 300/400
Except he had: stock headers No porting No HEI And an edelbrock performer cam that was barely better than stock I think its going to be around 330/425
