Here is a mild 401 I built for my 77 cj7.

.30 over
8.5:1
Edelbrock Performer
Edelbrock 650 Carb
Lunati 64501...... 256/262 and 484/507
D.U.I Distributor
Comp Double Roller
Bulltear Crank and water Pulley
valve job and mild port and polish
Taylor Wires

Goes to the Dyno in two weeks

Gonna say 300-320 hp @ 5500-6000 rpm

This will have brutal low end,

bump the compression and bigger cam it should make 400 hp no problem

My dad had a similar build dynoed at 300/400

Except he had:
stock headers
No porting
No HEI
And an edelbrock performer cam that was barely better than stock

I think its going to be around 330/425

The 401 made 367hp and 450tq

Should make the cj move really well
