Also, Raceway Park in Englishtown does have a 1.35 mile road course as well.  Though I haven't seen it, so I'm not what the layout is like.

I think their website has more info on dates and costs.

Not sure if I will run it there or not. I am not abiding to any build requirements although I am sticking close to what the car was like in 1970. I am sure that since then requirements changed.  For example I  have no driveshaft loop so can't run it at Raceway park.  It does have a scattershield, fuel cell and complete braided steel lines.  Also most road course places want pinned hoods, and I have no plans on drilling any of mine..

MY LATEST ISSUE IS THAT THE THERMOSTAT HOUSING IS TOO LONG AND THE REPLACEMENT -20 BRAIDED STEEL LINE CAN'T MAKE THE SHARP BEND, SO I NEED TO MAKE THE NECK SHORTER.

I WAS LOOKING FOR A NEW THERMOSTAT HOUSING BUT I WILL BE USING THE ONE I HAVE. IT'S ALREADY JET HOT COATED TO MATCH THE INTAKE AND I BOUGHT A NEW AN-20 FITTING TO WELD IT. IF AFTER WELDING, I MIGHT HAVE TO SEND IT BACK TO JET HOT.

TOMORROW I AM GOING TO SEEK THE HELP OF PARTICK STEFANELLI OF STEF'S CUTSOM OIL PANS IN LAKEWOOD, NJ.  HE IS GOING TO FIX ME UP.

I worked at a dealer, Stern Motors, freeport L.I.which was a AMC dealer. frank would leave that car there at times.I beleave it was around 1976 1977, I was 14 years old and my father was the sevice manager. we both knew frank lipare. after seeing that car as a kid I knew what I wanted. in 1978 I bought a 1969 390 4spd amx, which I still own and drag race. I copied those rear wheel flares, and my car still has them.good luck with project awesome car....NICK

NICK:    Thanks for the post.   It's good to know that others remember the car from back in the day.  Anyone that had the pleasure of knowing FranK Lipare was truly honored since he was one of the nicest guys that I have met in my days playing with AMC's.  I spent a lot of time at Frank's place in Manhasset Long Island as well as out in Bridgehampton working on the car. We also spent time at Lime Rock, Conn and the dealer up there was Stahl's AMC in Derby.  A guy named Craig Stahl helped a lot in the development of the car. Frank passed away suddenly at a young age in 1986. Somewhere on the car will be a rememberance of him, not sure in what form but it is the right thing to do.
