I have the tag off a 70AMX door, according to Tom Benvie, so far, possibly the latest number tag for a 70 AMX. It has the "O" not a "0".

Real neat rare car !! I love the fact it's a 390 without the ram air hood and a four speed to boot. Thumbs Up

I need to keep the Javelin drivable for now, but that hasn't kept me from starting the disassembly this week. I especially wanted to remove the rear bumper and other parts which will be replated in order to get that process started. Luckily these nests are pretty old and not active!

I also wanted to remove the damaged front bumper in order to assess the condition of the grille. It's pretty nice but does have a few broken mounting tabs and a couple of hidden cracks. It should be very repairable though. With everything out of the way (including a huge loudspeaker!) we can see that most of the factory original blackout remains. Crunched lower core support will be replaced.

That's a really cool car .. I love the "sleepers" .. A base Javelin with 390 4-speed would be a really sleeper. Just needs steel wheels and dog-dish caps!

That is a neet car. I will have to check my door sticker the next time I clean out the shead as I never looked that close at it. Now when you have the sticker remade do yo uhave it made like it is now or fix it? iirc mine is a MAR. 1970 390/4sp SST cant remember where in the VIN it has SST or Base so may not show?

Since we're on the subject of base 390 70 Javelins, here is a picture of my Mosport Green base 390 4 speed.

SST's would have the emblems on the back next to the side markers and woodgrain trim on the dash and doors. Both those cars shown are indeed base models based on the info I have about the SST option package.
