Yep, just didn't want to jump in too early, plus have been swamped with everything under the sun besides car stuff lately.  Suppose I better take a gander at the ole Farmer's Almanac and see what the weather is going to look like in case we need to move the date Wink.  Are you planning on attedning the AMC Lone Star Regional out in West November 10th?

It's almost April 2013- any plans for another meet up there in Lufkin? I still haven't got the restoration of my '63 Classic 660 finished but have made her my daily driver for now. Looking forward to going somewhere and showing her off. lol

Some pictures from the event.  I must confess, I was so busy running around I didn't even get to look at everyone's cars near as much as I wanted, much less tak many pictures.  I will add shots as folks send me their's.

First though, here is a link that Peter has up on the AMC Club of Houston site:

The panoramic shot at the bottom of the club page is minus 1 Jeep CJ, the 2 Willys FC Jeeps and 1 Gremlin, as they had all had to leave by that time, but can be seen in other shots from the link.

Here is a video of the '57 Willys FC-170 tour wagon Jeep heading out with a load of folks

Here is a pan video of the field of cars just after the FC Tour Jeep left

Here's that FC-170 loaded and headed out

Here is shot down one side of the cars, minus the Gremlin on the far end that had to leave by this point

A shot of the opposite side minus a CJ and the two FCs that had already had to leave

I'll post more pics as I get them, hope you enjoy these for now.

Wow, it's been almost a week now and I'm still pumped (and a little tired ; ) after our hugely successful AMC meet.  We did have several would be participants that had to cancel and a few that couldn't make it due to one thing or another at the last minute.  Hopefully, next year they will be able join us for another great and even more successful AMC day here in Lufkin.  It was great to meet so many new friends, reacquaint with ones we've met before and share the day with everyone.  We wound up with a great showing of 15 cars (no, not including the '70 Javelin project in the garage & I didn't have my '74 War Wagoneer there either).  In attendance we had: 3 Gremlins ('72, '77 & '78), 1 '76 Hornet Sportabout (w/360), 2 Spirits ('80 & '81 I believe), 1 '70 Rebel Machine, 4 Javelins ('71, 2-'72s, '74), 2 Jeep CJ7s ('78 Levi's w/401, '87) & last but certainly not least, 2 Willys Forward Control Jeeps (1 '57 FC-170 Willys tour wagon Jeep (1 of 4 built) and 1 '58(?) FC-150), as well as 2 AMC parts vendors who made some sales.  It was a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere that everyone enjoyed and all were talking about attending next year well before the day was over.  We had lots of folks from the community stopping in to check out the cars and even some stopping off the street to buy parts.  We still had 8 cars present by 6:00 p.m. and still had people pulling in to look at the cars.  We finally wrapped it up and formed a 4 car AMC cruise to a restaurant for dinner about 8:15 that evening.

I would like to thank Marty and Willa Roberts, Tom Taylor and Peter Groenewold in particular for their help in bringing items and help and encouragement with the event.  I would like to thank them; as well as, Jerry and Esmeralda Melton and Gary Walker for aiding in the tear down and clean up afterwards.  I want to thank my family, but most especially my wonderful wife, Misty, for all her hard work and support to ensure this was a successful and enjoyable event for all.  Without her, it just wouldn't have been near the success that it was.

I could go on and on about how great the day was, but I'll let you attend next year and find out for yourself.  I will close this out so I can start another reply with some pictures from the day.  I have a couple of videos that I will post and probably start a post in the Photo section as well.  Hope to see many more of you next year.

Hey guys,
  It looks like I'll get to go to Lufkin also.  I will be driving from near Monroe Louisiana and I am bringing a pickup truck load of good old AMC parts to sell.  I need some space in my shop so I hope some of you bring a vehicle that will carry some of this stuff.  Here is some of what I have to bring;

Two 727 transmissions for rebuilding.
One 904 (or 998, I forgot) low mileage original that does not need rebuilding with converter.
AMC 20 rear end for racing with extra inboard spring perches, 4.10 gears, and long studs.
'70 360 4V stock intake and carburetor complete.
New, unused Jeep headers.
Complete '69 Javelin tilt steering column with auto shifter in column.
Early Javelin automatic console.
Early Javelin grill missing a couple of mounts.
Late model Javelin stock spoiler.
'69 American front right fender with no rust or dents.

Less than a week to go.  At this point my computer time is pretty limited with prep work going on for the meet, so it's easiest to reach me on my cell 936/225-0569.  Thanks to all those that have inquired and who knew we'd get well over 825 views of the posting by now.
Thanks,
Reagan

Hate to hear you have to work, especially as close as you live.  We will have cars arriving by 9:00 a.m. (some even before) and go until 4:00 or whenever we're done and everyone has gone home.  If you could make just a portion of the day I believe you'd still have a great time.  Shoot me an e-mail and I'll send you some pics of a '63 Ambassador 880 that is for sale here in Luflkin. ratliffr@centralisd.com

Sounds like a FUN time...too bad I'm working or I'd be there! I just bought an all-original 1963 Rambler Classic 660 and am lost on where to begin on making it like new but am looking forward to learning as I go. Best $2,800 I've ever spent!

Glad to pick up another participant.  I believe we've added up to 6 more in the last 48 hours, so things are building.  Should be pushing a minimum of close to 20 or more AMC and AMC related marques, plus several classic non-AMC vehicles in attendance as well.  I'll shoot you an e-mail shortly.

Thanks,

Reagan
