Yes, the strut rods are gone because upper and lower control arms are now A-arms and extremely stable. The upper control arms are adjustable with bushed rod ends, making caster and camber fully adjustable. Six degrees of negative roll is already built into the geometry of the system, making alignment easy to achieve and maintain. Al

There is only marginal stress on the bolts because the sway bar has very limited movement, either in compression or sway. The poly end links and bushings absord most of the movement and the bolts are constantly in a push-pull configuration. The bolts, for this reason, do move around and are protected by the end links. They never fight each other or stress. Most manufacturers include Grade 5 bolts because there is little or no stress. We just provide Grade 8 bolts because that's all we use. As for handling, it will be slightly better as the bar was designed...on top of the lower control arm. It will never hit the steering arms or anything else, because it rides up and down with them. The spacing to other parts is a constant. The increased benefit will not really be noticed on the street, never noticed on the drag strip, and very noticeable in high speed road racing and hard acceleration autocross. I appreciate everyone chiming in but this is not a complex piece of equipment. Hope this helps. Al

As for the bolts for end links IIRC when 1 side is "pushing" the other side is "pulling" no?
So it would not make a difference if on top or below the are on the bolts......now for handeling???

Yes indeed that does help!! Thank you very much!!
I can make it work on the Hornet. Now to locate a rear sway bar that can be made to work. I remember that Al's BA Dart He had at his shop had a rear kit that just might do the trick. Edited by Scrapdaddy Sr. - Nov/28/2011 at 7:33pm |

Wendell,
I think you may have asked me that before and I forgot to get back to you. I just took a measurement, and it looks like 43". Hope that helps.
As far as the mounting location of the bar, I kinda like the location it's in, it looks non-conventional. Although I may flip it over to see if I can notice any diference in handling.

Looks from here, that it should fit fine by flipping the bar and mounting above the lower control arm, unless it will hit it's own bracket. |

I can see the point about bolt stress but if the mounting needs to be flipped around to above the control arm, the bar might need to be flipped and a longer bolt utilized with a spacer to make sure and clear the rack 'n pinion tie rod. Take a close look.

Wayne & Friends:
Everyone is right in terms of the sway bar fitment. We did, however, design it to sit above the lower control arm, not below. It does function marginally better, but, more important, nothing is hanging down. Hope this helps. Best regards, Al
