Here's the original sign from the ambulance that was used in the Kenosha AMC plant in the 60's Saw this sign today while picking up a few items from a local AMC guy. It is probably 4' x 1' Two polls underneath the sign is the stretcher from the ambulance.

Friends,
I have mentioned many times, that Linda has kept "EVERY" single piece of paperwork for her '74 Javelin since day # 1, and today, while unpacking some old boxes, she found another piece of history to her AMC.... "The Paper Buyer Tag"....(still in like new condition) **I am listed as the Buyer on the tag.... BUT, rest assured, Linda was (is) the Owner.... |

Original Owner, 1974 Javelin:
360ci,2v,727TC. Motorola Multiplex with 8-Track. G4 Plum exterior with 421Q Black Uganda Interior. Purchased on July 16, 1974 from Hooker AMC, Sherman, TX for $4500.20 |

Also found a Business Card from Hooker AMC, that was with the Paper Buyer Tag.
Jim Pollard, listed on the card, worked for the Hooker Brothers for a short time after he sold the business to them in January 1974. **Mr. Pollard was the Nash and Rambler dealer in Sherman, Texas for many years.... |

A good friend of mine turned me onto an ebay ad earlier in the week, for this Rambler dealer postcard. He knows I live in the town the dealership was located in.
I was thrilled that he clued me in, because while living in Elmhurst IL. now for over 25 years, I'd heard there were a couple Rambler/AMC dealers in town but was never able to confirm their names or locations. Elmhurst is known for having tons of car dealerships. Joe Smart Rambler wound up being where I'd thought one of them might be. Once I had the address, I drove over there and shot a few pictures. The building still stands! I BIN'd the postcard while parked in front of the place . Edited by Ram Air Rick - May/30/2020 at 6:40pm |

That's pretty cool Rich. The old AMC dealer here is now a Ford dealer where I get my truck serviced....so I can haul my AMC around! lol
