 First , Matt , too funny .....
The closest thing here to an AMC dealer is my garage ....I'm thinking of buying a sign even...

Surprisingly, even for the 35 the filters are everywhere. B;aser, americanpartsdepot, kennedyamerican, Galvin's, Napa, Rockauto ....  I still like Rockauto, cause if you have time to have the parts mailed,
they can have some cheap prices on maintenance stuff anyway.

They have all tune up parts for all of my cars, from 58-87 .....

Someone is listing a filter for an M11 on Ebay for 25 bucks.... rockauto lists them at 4.89 .....

Emissions parts and pre upper ball joint suspension parts are the only issues I've had finding parts so far.

Yeah and your Hornet has a TF. --easy to get parts for. not quite so easy for a 59 Rambler.

i cleaned my filters by soaking them in gas then blowing them out with compressed air (a tip from Steve at Blaser Auto). if that's no good I'd try americanpartsdepot.com or Blaser Auto (blaserauto.com)

Many of the older (pre 65 or so) trannys use a fine stainless steel mesh screen. If you have that clean it and re-use. If the gasket isn't available, the local Chrysler dealer has a silicone based sealant that won't dissolve in trans fluid. Most new Chrsyler trannys use that instead of a gasket. You can also get Permatex "Right Stuff" at most auto parts stores. It's made to replace traditional gaskets and resists tranny fluid. Don't over do it and squeeze any of the product inside the trans. A little bulge won't hurt though. I suggest getting it in the "power bead" can for a trans pan gasket. The pressurized can gives a much more even bead. Use it without a traditional gasket, not with it!

The Borg Warner model 35 transmission gasket kit from napaonline comes with the filter.  I just put the kit in my 65 Rambler.  Joe
