AMC 327 in my 1965 jeep j3000 needs a new radiator. no luck finding one. does anyone know if a rad from the ramblers or the AMC cars that used the same engine will bolt in ? if not what have you used ? thanks

Get out your tape measure and start measuring.
If it's the same size as later Jeeps, you got it made in the shade. Should be the same size as Grem/Hornet or Javelin, Rebel & Matador -main difference is which way the side mounts are facing -towards the front or towards the rear... ...if the side mount 'ears' are facing the wrong way, maybe you can just use longer bolts with spacers (works for me, on a rebuilt car) Speed Daddy AMC aluminum radiator is currently the best price; not as highly polished as Champion but looks good and gets the job done. Even if you are towing (?) I bet a two row is all you need because the Rambler V8 has a big water jacket for excellent cooling capacity. -A two row plausibly has better air flow for heat transfer. |
