Ran my '79 Spirit at the recent NHRA Div 2 race in Rockingham. Ran Q/SA and qualified with a 13.22 on a 13.80 sec index. First 1/4 mile competition for the car since I acquired and rebuilt/refreshed. Unfortunately 1st round ran a 13.215 on a 13.22 dial, so I was out. Very happy with its performance!

Here is a picture, showing a little air under the front wheel:

Way to represent! Can't be too mad with the breakout.

Can't tell you much about it. I think it was originally body colored (red), now painted with silver paint. The black ends have red paint under them.

Looks photo shopped. Fuzzy black but crisp silver edges. Just my 2 cents.

Cool! 6 tenths under out of the box! But the record is 12.7 - tough one. Original bumper should be chromed aluminum with the plastic end caps.

only have to worry about the record if you meet the record holder in a heads up race. other wise awesome performance.

Love seeing AMC drag cars still being campaigned, especially in the SS and S classes. Thank you for keeping us apprised.

I left a half point of compression on the table with the build. Hope to correct that over the winter.
