Is there any way to switch out the brake pedal rods on 2 identical power boosters?

If the rods going into the booster are the same diameter you should be able to switch them.
Some rods have a stepped end so you have to remove the rear booster seal with the rod and then take out the rod. Others the rods will just slip out the seal.
Just pull on the rod and if it comes out easily the great. If not, take the rod out with the seal.
Ensure the ends of both rods have the same profile before switching also. They mate to a matching surface.

Yeah, some just fall out. Bought a booster for my brother a few years back - picked it up off the table, rod just fell out. Luckily I saw it happen and wasn't walking away through the grass with it. Then I have another, also supposed to be from a Javelin - the rod stays in it nicely but if you do remove it, that rear seal comes out with it.
So - it's a matter of matching things up - if you have two that match, great, but how to remove seems to rely on the specific booster. Odd both of these I have are from Javelin and yet the rods come out differently. I have never bothered paying attention to them otherwise, didn't care - they aren't for me.
