on my 69 AMX the vacuum wipers will not shut off all the way and stay in the park position. When they are all the way on they seem to work then on the off position they continue to move very slowly and never stop. Any ideas to remedy this problem. Gary ( g.wheatley@frontier.com)

The first thing I would check is to see if the cable that turns them on and off is moving the motor to the full off position.

the cable wire thingie needs adjusting at the motor, sounds like. it's unusual for only that to happen, so look for other issues. i'm sure adjustment is in the TSM but i adjust mine by making sure the motor valve slider is fully OFF a tiny fraction of a turn before the knob is turned to off. there's a funny slotted hex head screw, just loosen a turn or two. turn the dash knob to OFF. then push the cable housing, at the motor, inward so that the slider on the switch is fully pushed in. tighten the screw. |

This has to be a first - someone complaining the vacuum wipers work too well. I think tomj nailed it, but you might also want to verify the cable is not binding. It may not have full travel, leaving the motor slightly on. |

Excellent - we used to run into this now and then - cables stick and bind and things wear - and once in a while it wasn't moving the valve on the motor to full off. Good description!
I found a bit of something like WD40 can help things move if things get a bit sticky or dry. You are relying one a cable to push and pull and there's a bit of spring action there if things bind. |
