I'm wanting to install a full roller cam in my 401. Looking to use a Crane Cam with a street/strip grind. Was wondering what the best roller lifters will be best for this application? I did Google it and found retrofit roller lifters for the AMC 401. What are options and the size I'll need?

I've used Johnson roller lifters. Think others have used Crane. -Steve-

I just ordered a custom ground cam and hyd roller lifters from Bullet cams for my 401 I'm building. They use Morel lifters. I also used Morel/Lunati HYD roller in my BB Mopar with satisfactory results.

What are the specs on the cam. Im looking at a roller for my 401 yet want something below 0.500" lift and close to stock actually. What are some other thing needed to be done to the bock? Different timing chain than a FT and thrust plate added? thx

Nick Alfano in Wisconsin has a thrust plate kit. He spec'd out a bullet roller cam for me and had some roller lifters. He has been around for years, maybe give him a call?

1970 AMX, one step forward, one step back. Both steps cost time and money.

If using a solid roller cam the Crower roller lifters will work and seal oil galleys in an unbushed block . If hydraulic roller several I know have had good luck with Gatorman lifters

Yes I need to look into a roller what will work for me. The thrust plate is a BBC generic plate , All I need to do is drill & tap two holes to use it. There is a good YT example someone did one, looks really. easy to do.
