Well the issue was wrong flywheel! Everything is perfect! Now I have a new 401 flywheel for sale. Well it was bolted on, but with very little clutch action, just drove it down the street. THANK YOU TO EVERYONE THAT RESPONDED AND TRIED TO HELP ME WITH MY VIOLENT SHAKE VIBRATION ISSUE!
Respectfully submitted.
Christopher

That was quite an adventure but worked out well. The clutch works great.

I raced my Javelin at Wentzville once in 1999 when they had the AMO meet in St Louis. I'll never forget my first run there as the track used to drop off downhill right after the timing lights. Scarey!

Chris, I think that is where I ordered my flywheel, two years back. I know I ordered one for a 360, as that is when I purchased the engine. Looking at it and comparing, I know its for a 401. I just ordered the right one, from O'reilly's, externally balanced, will be here Tue @8am (0800 for us military types!lol) It has been difficult to find a machine shop around here for some reason! This is Wentzville, we have cruise nights almost every other night with custom machines, you would figure there would be a bunch of them. So looks like I will be selling a F/W for a 401! Thanks again for your help, I was reading all the issues you were having a few years back, I like how you approached your issues! Impressed!!

Can they add metal to a cast iron flywheel? If the weight is 180 deg off they'd have to take that off first, then I suppose they'd have to try to lighten the opposite half of the flywheel even more to get the correct amount of unbalance.

It cost $75 to have my flywheel match balanced to my previous flexpalte. A new 360 flywheel from Jegs is $95, but wouldn't be perfectly balanced to your engine like the factory original was.

Well it wont let me insert an image! lol Shocked

Sounds like once you get it balanced you'll be fine.

What was the aftermarket flywheel number so others don't get into the same problems?
