Has anyone had any luck buying just the 2 square seal rings that are between the pump and reservoir? Sometimes it doesn't go too well at the local stores if you need them to find something they can't just look up on the computer. Thanks for any help.

The whole rebuild kit is inexpensive. Don't know if round cross section O rings would work, maybe ??

I have an O-Ring Design Catalog if dimensions of the O-Ring Gland(s) can be provided, I can look them up in the Design Catalog and suggest a standard sized round cross section O-Ring that may fit, and they can usually be bought at fairly low cost at a local industrial supply house. Not saying it will work, but it may be worth a try... But I need relatively accurate O-Ring Gland Dimensions and type, like a "face" seal, or a "piston" seal and if it goes "on the piston" or "in the bore", etc...

Thank you for the help. I am also wondering if a round ring could be used. I have a hunch I will end up at the John Deere dealer. They are much better than most auto stores when it comes to hydraulic stuff.

I've used round section o-rings before when I had a leak here. If you take the pump to a supply house you should have no issues finding one that fits in and is taller than the recess.

I actually did just that today. #116 round section o rings seemed to be a good match.
Now I am wondering what folks are doing for a seal under the washer and nut on the cover. I looked in my parts book and see there is supposed to be what they call a grommet in there. There has never been anything under the washer on mine in the 44 years I have had it.
