I have used a Snap On Flywheel Turning Wrench for this job for more than 30 years, but there are many ways to accomplish this job. They might even have this tool at one of your local auto parts stores for free use. 

Here's a photo of the wrench I use.

Mid torque impacts work as well. Never had one come loose
