69 Rambler 401 TKO, 11.99 @ 118 mph. This is highway driven 2 hours to the track straight onto the starting line. Full reasonably quiet exhaust, pump gas, daily driver street combination. Car has launch problems. Looking to go quite a bit faster this year with more engine, but want to stay away from a bar.

A street car really is a difficult thing to define and means different things to different people. Also depends on what kind of streets. And lots of people have no problem with gears and noise and like it. A friend drives a Vette so loud I won't even sit in it, and he thinks me weird. He enjoys driving around in 3rd just so it's louder and can spin the big block 4000 rpm continuously. Good grief, but to each his own.

My definition of a street car is one that can be gotten into and driven 500 miles in "reasonable" comfort if you want to. I don't need air, at least here, but it's gotta be quiet enough to talk to your wife - and she has to be willing to get into the car.

Right off the factory floor, a P85D Tesla with the just released "Ludicrous" battery package will do 0-60 in 2.8 seconds and the 1/4 mile in 10.9 seconds.

Went for a ride with a friend of mine who has the P85 Tesla with the "Insane" mode, which goes 0-60 in 3.2 seconds. The instant acceleration is amazing. Knowing him, he will be upgrading to the "Ludicrous" mode very soon.
