This is with out seeing the condition first hand....i agree with the coil wire disconnect..if it still does it i would go to a voltage drop test from the battery to the starter and the battery to the ground(block)

Coil disconnect for sure.

Heat shield may solve the problem.

Headers COOK the starter.
