343's were copper in 67, 290's were gold. In 68 all engines were painted Caravelle Blue (metallic). From 69 to 72 they were Alamosa Aqua, as a metallic.

Long time AMC fan. Ambassador 343, AMX 390, Hornet 360, Spirit 304 and Javelin 390. All but javelin bought new.

I never knew that in 1970 for the New AMC Hornet the AMC 304 was painted PINK !...
 Or is that Mauve ? for goodness sake ?... This is from a 1970 AMC Hornet Sales Brochure!...  |
