You guys are going to laugh, but I have been very pleased by my harbor freight one. IIRC it was around $70 on sale and came very highly recommended. An electric impact is mandatory here because of the Extremist pick your part junkyards who don't let you bring in anything because they are in cahoots with the illegal mexicans who will pull stuff for you with their impacts for a fee. So only way to defeat them is to bring in an electric impact of your own-I half bought it just to see the look of disgust on their face when this gringo shows up with the same tool they have and thus have to let me in with it-and oh boy are they pissed :) At SoCal yards its a basically another country, mexicans get better prices, and carte blanch to do what they want when they want, not to mention all announcements/transactions are generally made in spanish. And we are not talking localized stand along operations-major chains

I call on several repair shops and most have a Dewalt or Milwaukee 18V impact wrench 1/2"
and they swear bu them.

I have an 18v Hitachi rattle gun, 
So handy when out doing breakdowns and you dont have an air compressor on you. Its smaller and lighter than the milwaukee ones I have seen, and fits in smaller spaces.
I've had it for atleast 4 years and it has copped a hammering and is still going strong. 
Not as much power as the milwaukee ones though, but the milwaukees are a bit bigger and heavier.

I have a Dewalt DC820 18V cordless.  It kicks butt.  Very compact, and does about 140 ft/lbs.  The DC821 is a little bigger and does around 160 ft/lbs.  Both are 1/2 drive.

I bought a Sears electric one and love it. I bought it expressly to loosen the big front hub nut on our 4WD Cherokee and it worked great. The only thing I didn't count on was how big it is. It's too big to get into any tight spots so you have to use extensions and plan around it.

I've had good luck with a Kobalt cheapie from Lowe's. Been using (beating) it for a few years. +1 on the Milwaukee and Hitachi stuff. I have other electric power  tools from them and they are indestructable. Or at least so far for a few years.

I have had both Hitachi and Milwaukee 18v Lithium units before. The Milwaukee was fine but the battery life was not the greatest, the Hitachi caught fire when it wasn't even being used and they would not grant the warranty. I have been using a Bosch unit now for 3 years and it is by far the best, I originally had a problem with the charger but they are very good with warranty (here in Australia anyway)

I have all the 28 volt milwaukee, tools. The impact works pretty good at around 300ft lbs or so and so far they have been great, really like the band saw and saws all, oh and the circular saw too.
 
 
My favorite by far is the dewalt 12v lith ion 3/8 impact, I use it a bunch. its tiny

I have an HF cheapie and a 700 watt inverter that runs it and my sawzall. I keep the better tools at home under lock and key with a guard dog watching them.
