Who makes a good one? I want a 120 volt model 1/2" drive. Plan on using it with a generator on our junk yard visits.

Considered a cordless one ?
We have a Hitachi 1/2" drive 18 volt one in our workshop that takes a real beating and just keeps on going.

Don't expect an electric impact to hit anything like an air impact. You'll still need a breaker bar & pipe to get anything tight or rusted off. The electric impacts can tighten to about 100 foot pounds, & loosen about the same. That's on lug nuts, lightly anti seized & checked with an accurate torque wrench.  I have a 20 + year old Black & Decker that has been 100% trouble free. I have a 10 year old Dewalt that is the same as the B&D other than the name & its been 100% trouble free. The Dewalt has been used pretty hard.

Just bought a second Milwaukee to use in my truck, so I have one in my shop and one in my truck for that quick trip to the yard...never had a problem with the first one and it came with a car charger.

If you're willing to pony up, the newer electric rechargeables (lithium ion) have considerable power.   I have 3/8" guns that will do 275 lb/ft and 1/2" guns that do 725.  That's big truck lug nuts.

they are pricey but i have had 2 1/2 snap on 18 volt cordless impacts over the last 10 years and still have both and both still work great. i use it daily in my shop and i hardly even get out my air 2135ti max impact any more. the snap on one is almost as powerfull and the battery will last at least all day.
again they are a little pricey(around 550-600) but they last for years and work every time so i cant complain.

I bought a Milwaukee 1/2"  18v lithium battery powered and it took lugnuts off of my bobcat trailer.  I never use the air impact anymore.

?? Really that good?
Hmmm.......... that's a consideration as I often have a scrapper or something that's just 10 feet away from my longest air hose.
The 18v does have some "uumph"
