I have a 74 AMX with a 360 Motor. An EFI Sniper was put on Car and I noticed that the Carburetor seemed very loud. There was Rythmic Ticking going on that seemed to get worse when Car was Warm. Also the Display Screen blacks out and comes on and off Intermittently. I thought it was way to loud so my Mechanic sent it Back to Holley. They said everything was normal and could not find anything wrong and It was just a louder than normal injector. My question is, is there something my Mechanic isn’t Seeing that could lessen noise and fix Display? Just looking for feedback as I do not know what else to do!
Thanks!

Just wondering if the two problems may be connected. A poor power supply will cause an injector to be louder and the blacking out screen seems like it may also be a power issue.
First take a look at the EFI connections.
Try hooking up a digital volt meter to the power and taking it out for a drive. You should see 14.2 to 14.4 V pretty steady. May drop to 13.8 V at idle depending on your options.
Engine off battery should be 13.6 V to 13.8 V settling after a run.

Yes it did, by me!!! Figured I would relay the Info that Holley says this was Normal. If I knew it was this loud before I Installed, I would have passed. Thought it would be good info for the Forum and to Give my experience with it. I cannot see how anybody with a stock Engine would want to deal with this Annoying Noise. Maybe I am wrong, but I now wish I had rebuilt my stock Carburetor. Live and Learn!

I just installed the Sniper on a customers car. It is very noisy compared to any other system I have installed. It is not true fuel injection and more similar to CFI systems from the 80's. It seems to be easy to tune but is not as sophisticated as the MSD system I usually install. The MSD has true fuel injectors on rails, the Holley has a single solenoid and annular discharge like a carb. It works OK but I prefer the less clunky and much quieter MSD. The noise you hear is normal. Every Sniper I have seen has a screen that goes dormant after a while.

I've installed and seen several FAST systems and they're almost silent. You get what you paid for I guess.
