Some of you already know this but figured I should post something for those who have not heard.

NHRA has approved the Edelbrock AMC heads as an NHRA legal replacement head for Stock and Super Stock class's for 67-73 vehicles with 343-401 V8. These heads have the NHRA logo engraved on the ends. The part number is #60107 and will be available in about 60 days.

It must not be all that hard, a former member here got some HIGH compression forged pistons approved for Super Stock use. Unlike some, I'm not naming any names.Wink

Aluminum heads have been legal on other makes for awhile with the weight penalty...It just took some lobbying by an AMC competitor to get AMC included....
Indy heads are legal in ss but you cannot exceed the maximum cc volume nhra lists for AMC heads...and Indy is way bigger than whats allowed...which doesn't cause a whole lot of problem on the intake(you can mill the intake face down) but on the exhaust that will require welding to get those down to legal size...
I don't know how many cc the volume is on the edelbrock ports but should be closer to stock and less work...
