I've always had good luck with the DS2 system, so I started on the installation of my standard setup, one module with a spare mounted next to it. There's a good flat spot on the passenger side and the wiring harness runs right where the distributor and coil are. Why a spare module? Because I have lots of experience with this system..... I also used spacers to mount them so air can flow around them. I will need a couple of extra connector ends to keep the spare module's connectors clean.

Try running a GM HEI module instead of the sometimes questionable aftermarket Duraspark module. Some of the Ford guys have been doing it, believe it or not!  Some bake the original module and remove the potting/electronics, then mount a GM HEI module inside, using the case as a heat sink. Clever! Search "HEI module Duraspark"

Yep, I've seen that before. I'm pretty sure I can trust just one to fail at a time! I have several spares, too. Keeping air moving around them is the key to keeping them working.

I know there prone for failure never had issues other than the pickup going bad but I think it all about the ground on them keep it clean and tight

Those things suck. I went through at least 6 of them over the years with a Concord and an Eagle. Never again. Skip White HEI, $55, 1 wire and also gets rid of the computer controlled timing.

The problem is that Ford stopped using the Duraspark in the mid 80s, 89-90 if you count the TFI systems which are somewhat similar. Jeep used the Duraspark through the last of the Grand Wagoneers with AMC 2360s -- 1991. There really isn't much demand for the modules except for old car guys. Ford stopped making modules in the early 90s, and the aftermarket modules just aren't as durable. It's much easier and cheaper to wire in a GM HEI ignition module, which is much more relaible, than it is to swap the whole thing out, though that's what many do.
