From the AMO web site.....

"Sad news. The AMC hobby lost a great person yesterday, Don Loper,, the founder of AMO as we know it, has passed away. Services are pending. Don had served in just about every office in AMO from its beginning in about 1976 till now. We lost a great one!"

That is sad news!   Sorry to hear this.  Condolences to his family.  Don's contributions to the AMC hobby will live on for many many years!

Shame we keep losing such great assets to the AMC Community, but no one gets out alive!!  We just all have to do the best for our families and other while we are here and I believe Don did his best, he was great at the shows only trying to further the clubs efforts in a positive way.....hope he shares his "History Pics" with me when I am called.

Very Sad. Don was a great guy.  My memory of him is always in that light blue suit coat and tie at the AMO Nationals years ago.  A Gentleman.
